Feeling: abnormal
I went to her and we fell in our arms; her touch was gentle, loving; nothing unusual happened.
Her eyes however told the story. She had to talk to me.
At first I didn't quite think it was going to be a serious talk; let alone a breakup.
My ears were waiting for the words.
My eyes saw uncertainty in Rae's eyes; fear.
Then she started to talk, yet I noticed her effort to prevent herself from stumbling over her words. She told me what was meant for my ears.
Schoolwork, stress at home, a dream that was invisible; she couldn't take it anymore. She was not able to be in a relationship, so she told me.
So it had to be and she waited for a response.
My mind was blank, all I could think to respond was a happy "ok".

I couldn't think at all and my brain responded with the most neutral answer that it came up with.
My body was shaking; my mind was racing and my feet carried me to all my classes that day.
I was lost; I didn't know how to feel.
