We sat on the curb, overlooking an empty road. We sat in silence for a long time, as we normally did.
She suddenly leaned forward, sobbing. I laid a comforting arm around her shoulders and held her close.
"What's wrong?" I asked, and she looked up at me with teary eyes. She mumbled something and looked down at her feet.
I love this girl, she doesn't know it, but I try to ascertain what the problem is again.
"What's wrong?" I asked again.
"I think I've fallen for you." she replied.
I realize my dream has finally come true.
I put my hand on her chin and bring her face towards mine. Our lips meet, and happiness and light overcomes my loneliness and darkness.
"Not here." she says, pulling out of the embrace. She stands, and I rise as well.
The sky clouds over and it begins to pour with rain. We are soaked, but it didn't really matter.
We walked through the rain...until darkness clouded my vision, and I could no longer see.
