I walked alongside my horse several days later, through a dark forest in the dead of night. There was no noise around me, but if there was noise it was usually just a small critter running through the brush.
The moonlight was barely visible through the canopy of trees, but either way I could see clearly.
I heard a noise several meters behind me, which didn't sound like any small creature running through the brush. It sounded very much like a human being trying to be sneaky.
"Nice try, but I know you're there." I said, stopping. The human emerged from the trees, and drew a sword from a sheath on his back.
"You! One of the Horsemen! Show yourself!" the human demanded, in a raspy voice similar to mine.
I turned slowly, knowing full well whatever the human threw at me wouldn't affect me whatsoever.
What I saw however, would.
Inekwar stood there, his sword gripped tightly in his right hand. He shoved the tip of the blade close to my white armoured chest, and gritted his teeth angrily.
"Why do you wish to harm me?" I asked.
"Because you and your kind destroyed many people's lives, and you took my father from me!" he shouted.
I smirked.
"Why do you smile?! I should kill you!" Inekwar shouted.
"Do you know who I am?" I asked.
"I don't care!" Inekwar shouted again.
"I am your father." I said, stepping from the shadows into the pale moonlight.
Inekwar's jaw dropped, and his sword almost fell from his grasp. He took a step back and shook his head.
"Can't be...I watched my father die." he said.
"But nevertheless, I am here." I said.
He looked like he was at a loss for words. He staggered backwards and tripped over a root, before falling backwards to the ground. When he fell, he flopped to the ground and blacked out.
I sat down beside him and looked up at the moonlight. I was happy I had met my son again, although somewhat unhappy that he'd been trying to kill me.
