Our troops dispersed after that battle. Whoever survived went home to their friends and family, and I allowed the former general of the guards to remain in power, so long as he didn't threaten us vampires again.
But Kathleen and I sat alone in the dark several nights after the end of the War, talking about things, when Luke joined us.
"What are your plans now Luke?" I asked him. He looked up at me, before looking across the field.
"I don't really know. I'm so far from home nobody there will accept me anymore, so I guess I'm on my own for now." He replied.
I nodded slowly. I was in the same situation. I didn't know where home was, and I didn't have any family left, save Inekwar. I layed a hand on Luke's shoulder.
"It's ok friend. You can come with me." I said, giving him a smile. Luke smiled as well, but both of our smiles faded as dawn approached.
We rested in an underground cave during the day, and the next night, Luke, Kathleen and I set out, looking for some place to call our own.
We approached the vast mountain ranges in the south, and we rested in caves throughout our travels through the mountains.
On one of the nights we were there as I sat in a cave with Kathleen, Luke approached me, with a determined look on his face.
He sat down and began talking, and Kathleen and I listened to his plans.
