We arrived shortly after departing, finding the rouge knights on the other side of the village at the foot of the mountain The Order called its home.
When we arrived, Sumath, the first knight I had recruited, came out to meet us. He looked me over, and beckoned me inside the old stone building they used as their base.
I walked inside with Kathleen following me, and walked through a large square room, filled with old tables and bunks constructed recently to house the knights. The knight's swords were all left lying on their bunks, and we walked through a narrow corridor into a much larger square room where all the knights sat on chairs in a circle.
"This is our council. You may stand here and say what you wish." Sumath said, taking a seat in one of the empty chairs in the circle.
I told Kathleen to wait by the door for me, and I stepped into the center of the circle.
"What is it you wish to say Master Marius?" one of the knights asked. I looked around trying to find out who had asked the question, but I was unsuccessful.
"I wish for you all to return to The Order." I said bluntly. Several of the knights laughed.
"And why would we return to them...those who drove us out." I heard, and turned to a tall, black haired knight that stood.
"And who are you?" I asked.
"I am Xanedyer, the leader of the Rouge Knights." he said. He looked me over with his bright green eyes, and crossed his arms.
I turned my entire body to face him, and crossed my arms as well. I stood an inch taller than he was, but he looked physically stronger than I was.
"I wish for you and your knights to return to The Order." I said, almost making it sound more of an order than a request.
"And why would we want to do that?" Xanedyer asked. He brought chin into the air defiantly, and his arrogance angered me.
"Because The Order should work together and not be driven apart because of our opinions." I said. He nodded and almost laughed.
"Well, we want to be known to this world! We want to be recognized as the heroes of this land!" Xanedyer replied.
"So you're doing this for the attention?" I said, striking a nerve within Xanedyer. He glared at me, and I could see the anger in his eyes.
"You try to get us to come back by insulting us...not a good start Marius." He said, turning away from me. He turned back, and smirked.
"Well, I'm going to propose a whole new leadership when we return. I propose that instead of having a few masters lead The Order and send knights on missions, we have one Master who will be given a rank higher than the other masters, and have the other masters arranged in a council like yours, and they will discuss the issues and matters at hand with The Order. That way everyone will have a say in The Order." I explained.
A lot of the knights in the room looked almost ready to leave with me when I departed.
"And what of being known?" Xanedyer asked.
"Well, I plan on making us known, but refusing government control. We don't want a system of men controlling how we fight evil." I said. I realized I was speaking only for myself, but I was incorperating both the Rouge Knights' and The Order's ideals into one system, and I was confident that the knights would go along with me.
Xanedyer smirked.
"Not interested." He said, turning away from me and sitting in his empty chair. I smiled when I started seeing what was going on.
Half of the total knights in the room stood and walked towards me.
"We will join you Master Marius." They said. I nodded, and they walked past me to the entrance of the building, which also served as its exit.
Xanedyer stood and clenched his fists tightly.
"Traitors!" He shouted at them. I smirked and waved as I exited the room with the knights.
The knights gathered up their belongings and left with Kathleen and I, and together we led them back to The Order's mountain base.
