It has been 2 long years since I became the Horseman of Life.
In those years I have done much, and seen much in the Dreamland that has come to be my home.
The land was split for a time, during which Dreamland was divided into two kingdoms. The two kingdoms tried to live in peace, but they battled fiercely for domination over Dreamland.
The old kingdom of Dreamland, the one I had fought and died for as a mortal, emerged victorious, and the land returned to its natural state of being.
Oddly enough, they did so without my help. Or any of the other Horsemen.
There was yet another mystery. The Four Horsemen had not been seen since I had finished my missions in their ranks, although I had made many appearances in the land.
Many people I knew as a mortal were now dead, including my former love and most of the soldiers who fought at the king of Dreamland's castle with me.
My son Inekwar was convinced he had seen me during my travels as the Horseman of Life, so he had set out on a quest about a year ago to find me. He was still searching, and probably would be for a long time.
It was at the end of the two years that I was visited by the man who gave the Four Horsemen their orders.
"You've been keeping busy." He commented as I walked alongside my horse one night. The sky was black and dotted with stars, and the moonlight bathed the field in a creepy light.
"I try." I replied in a raspy voice. I had developed the rasp during the two years, and it had stuck with me since. Everything I said was spoken with a raspy voice, which tended to scare some people.
"I have a job for you." he said. I turned and glared at him.
"I don't take orders from you anymore." I said.
"Don't forget that I gave you the power you have now, and have been allowing you to keep it." the man said.
I gritted my teeth angrily and continued walking.
"What do you want?" I demanded.
"There's a particular human who has been delving into the dealings of the Four Horsemen, and yourself. I want you to find him and stop him. I know you won't use violence, but do so however you see fit." the man said.
"A human making you nervous?" I said before laughing.
The man snarled and vanished.
I hopped up onto my horse's back and prepared to gallop off, taking the opportunity to look around at the serenity and tranquility of the field around me.
"Time to go to work." I said, riding hard into the night.
