Inekwar and I split up that night. He set out to gather an army, and I set out to prepare myself for the coming conflict.
It'd be rough. All fights involving the Four Horsemen usually are.
I trained for days along in the wilderness, trying to get back into the method of training I had developed as one of the founding Knights in the Order.
I decimated ever fictional enemy that came to my mind, using their image as a tool to become stronger, faster, and ultimately better with the sword.
I became one with the sword. It felt as though it was a part of me, and thusly could not be removed. I felt free.
But there was a darkness creeping in on my attitude.
The thought that I would show wrath and great vengeance upon my enemies creeped in on my mind as I slept one night.
As the Horseman of Life, I was given the task of defending the innocent and enforcing true justice. In order to launch a campaign against the Four Horsemen, I would have to betray my own principles and become the verything I despise.
I dreamt a dream of a barren landscape. The sky was black and the soil gray. I trodded along, holding my sword in my right hand and dressed in my shimmering white armour.
My opponent appeared. He looked the same as I, dressed in black armour, which seemed blacker than the night sky around me.
"Who are you?" I spoke, my voice calm and smooth.
"I am you." he said, his voice cracking with a dark rasp.
He attacked first, swinging widly with his sword. His anger gave him great power, and he lashed out at me with everything he had to muster.
I used only my skill to block his wild attacks, but I found it hard to block such savage blows.
"What do you want?" I asked.
"What do you want?" he rasped, before lashing out again.
"You know what I seek! I seek to protect the innocent and preserve justice!" I shouted as our blades clashed again and again.
"I know what you really want!" he rasped back as he lashed out again.
"What exactly is that?" I demanded, before thrusting out at him.
He dodged it.
"You seek revenge!" he said, batting my sword down.
"I seek no revenge!" I shouted, bringing my sword up at him.
"Just imagine...killing all of the people who insulted and tried to tear you apart all your life!" he shouted into my face.
"No! I turned away from that path a long time ago!" I said, shoving him back.
He smirked.
We prepared to fight a hard duel, and he looked eager.
