When I finish pummeling Cloud, his face is a bloody mess, and he is almost unconscious. I drop his semi-conscious form and walk towards where I dropped my katana.
I pick it up and prepare to deal the final strike, when my former love steps between me and Cloud.
"Move or I will kill you as well." I say. She pulls out her sword.
"We shall see." She says to me. I smirk and stike her blade down without warning. She becomes shocked that I do not fight honourably anymore and tries to flee.
I pull a dagger from my belt and throw it at her as she runs. It takes her in the back of the knee and she drops as she tries to run.
I place the tip of my katana on her throat as she rolls over to look at me.
"Remember what I could've done tonight." I say, gritting my teeth in anger.
She looks frightened. I see Cloud stand and I turn my attention towards him.
"Now you will die!" I shout, running towards him.
Above us, thunder claps and lightning flashes across the sky. Rain begins pouring down and soaks the ground around us.
He brings up his buster sword to block a few of my blows, but one of them catches him across the chest, and blood begins flowing madly from the wound.
I punch the wound in anger, and keep pummeling him there with one hand. He coughs up blood and drops to one knee.
"Now you will meet your end!" I say, pulling my hand back and preparing to take off his head.
"Please no..." He says, holding his hand towards the blade, as if to stop me.
"Please don't kill him...or me..." I hear from behind me. I turn, and my former love crawls towards Cloud and the two of them lay together in the mud.
"Why should I not kill you two? What've you done to me? Cloud, you betrayed me. And you...you left me for another man, and now you've moved on to my former partner." I say, looking from one to the other.
"Because....if you're the good person I know, you'll have some mercy within you...enough to stop you from killing us." She says, still looking quite frightened.
I spit at them.
"You thought you knew me. You are sadly mistaken." I say. I swing my katana down at them, but instead of hitting them with the sharp edge, i hit them with the blunt side, knocking them both out.
A warrior in my legion walks over to me, after the battle had raged on for near an hour and a half.
"What do you want us to do with them?" He asks.
A voice in my head says kill them now so they can't harm you.
"Bag them up together, take them into town and leave them there. We're heading back to the grove." I say.
He nods and tosses them into large burlap bags. A few of the larger men in the legion walk with the bags towards the town and leave them there.
I wipe my katana clean on some fallen guard's uniform and put the sword back into it's sheath.
I find my former love's sword on the ground, and with it, I carve "remember" into the wet soil. I only hope that when they find my message, they will stop hunting me.
Until then, this adventure is done.
