I wake up the next morning in her arms. I look around to see the sunlight flowing in through her window, and a smile on her beautiful sleeping face. I gently brush hair out of her eyes and nestles her head on my shoulder. I close my eyes and fall asleep again, until she stirs and wakes me up again.
She grins at me, and I smile back.
I stand and search for my clothing and armour, which I had left on the floor the night before.
I start putting my clothes and armour back on, and I feel her arms around me. She rests her head on my shoulder and I stop putting my things on for a moment.
"Are you going away again?" She asks. I nod slightly.
"I don't know exactly when the men and I are moving out, but I might only have a few days left." I reply. She releases me and I finish putting my clothes and armour back on. I lash my sword's sheath to my belt and make sure the belt is secure before putting my cape on.
I hear a clanking of metal behind me. Confused, I turn around and see her dressed in her own suit of golden coloured armour.
"I'm coming with you." She says. I walk over to her and smile.
"I'm glad. I couldn't stand to be apart from you any longer." I say, and she smiles with me. I kiss her, and together we walk out of the building, to where her own horse is tied to the same fencepost as mine.
We walk past the horses, through the streets, until the streets end and a large hilly area begins.
"How good are you with a blade?" I ask, not really paying attention to what she is doing. She suddenly and quickly pulls out a thin, strong blade and places the tip under my chin.
"Good enough." She replies. I smile and quickly pull out my own sword, swatting hers aside.
"Then I am glad we do not need to fight each other." I say, and she smiles.
We both put our swords away, and my captain runs up to me, telling me a large force of the hellish creatures has massed a few days journey from the city, and that a large army of men have also massed.
"Ready the men. We move to help destroy the creatures." I order. He nods and runs back to the city.
I look deep into her eyes.
"We might not survive this." I say.
"Why?" she asks.
"The last time a large army of men marched on a large army of those guys, I was the only survivor." I explain.
She nods and we both walk towards where our horses are tied.
The final battle for Dreamland has begun.
