The creatures had an endless amount of numbers, but as we continued to fight I saw the edges of their horde creeping in, and knew the battle was almmost won.
Their gray leader had joined them, and was charging down the bowl as fast as it could to meet us.
Us Horsemen continued to hack our way through the vast tide of creatures, and the cloud of black dust around us all was so thick we could barely see through it.
I felt a powerful impact to my chest, and I fell backward off of my horse to the ground. I stood, and realized it was the leader again who had knocked me down.
"I shall see that you die." I shouted at the thing.
It bellowed at me and then leapt through the air, it's forward limbs extended. The claws on its forward limbs were probably enough to tear through me, so I dodged the blow to the left. The leader landed beyond me, and I turned and stabbed out at it.
The tip of my steel blade punctured it's flesh, and it howled in pain. I turned for a second to slash a few of the regular creatures around me, and when I turned back the leader was attacking me again.
It slashed across my chest, leaving a narrow gash in my armour. I swung my sword quickly and without hesitation, and took off its right limb.
It howled, and I stabbed into its neck. It continued screeching in pain, and it was loud enough to make my ears sting. I brought my blade crashing down upon its neck, ending the screeching and ending its life.
I climbed back onto my horse and joined our forces once again in the fierce fighting, and continued to hack and slash.
The troopers were holding up well. The shield wall had held up well, and the spears along the wall had done their job well. The swordsmen had emerged from their protection behind the shield wall once they had seen that the creatures were almost dead, and they were driving the creatures back from the shield wall.
We Horsemen gathered into another battle line as the last group of creatures was charging down the bowl towards us, and we charged out to meet them, with our troopers close behind us.
With Death in the lead, we smashed through the front line of the creatures and cut them all down. The troopers killed off whatever we didn't cut down, and together we charged through the ranks of the creatures and killed them all.
The dust remaining from all the dead creatures had drifted down into the bowl, and had almost completely filled it to the brim.
At last, it was finished.
