It has been several days since Vincent and I began our quest to destroy Cervantes. We walk along the side of a dirt road in silence, high trees on either side of us.
We had heard rumours of Cervantes assembling a small army of creatures to spread out over the world to slowly take it over, so we were moving towards one of the supposed locations of one of these creatures to find out where Cervantes could be found.
I look around me, and I see the lights of a distant town.
"We going to take a break in the town?" Vincent asks me.
"Of course. We've been walking like this for days now. It'd be nice to take a break." I say, not taking my eyes off the distant town.
We're looking forward to the town's hospitality, a warm bed, and a nice cooked meal, when I realize that the lights in the town are not simply candles burning in windows, but large fires burning the city down.
"That can't be good." Vincent points out. I start running towards the town as fast as I can, Vincent soon catching up to me.
When we arrive at the town, it is engulfed in flames, with a sinister laugh coming from within them.
"What the hell is that laughing?" I ask.
"So Vincent, coming back to try and fight be again are you?" We hear.
A hellish creature about fifteen feet tall leaps over the fires and lands in front of us. It's black armour contrasts with the brightness of the fire, and it's long bladed sword stood as tall as we were.
"What manner of creature is this?" I ask, taking a step back.
"He is a monster from the pits of hell. He was raised by Cervantes as a personal bodyguard." Vincent explains.
The creature laughs. "When Vincent tried to kill my master before, I almost destoryed him. He is afraid to fight me again." It says.
Vincent snarls at the massive creature. He pulls his massive handgun from its holster on his back.
I pull my katana from its sheath and prepare for combat.
The creature laughs again and swings its massive blade down at me. I jump to the side, almost landing in the flames from a nearby building.
Vincent aims his gun and fires several shots into the creature's leg. The massive creature turns its attention from me to Vincent.
Vincent looks frightened for a moment, but soon reloads his gun and continues firing.
The creature smacks Vincent with the flat side of his sword, sending Vincent through a fmaling building, and through the other side.
The creature turns back towards me, and brings his blade up over his head. I scramble out of the way as the massive blade slams down into the ground where I was.
"Hold still so I can kill you!" The beast yells at me.
I run into a gap between two flaming buildings, where several still sturdy timbers from the roofs of houses lay.
I take the timbers and set them up against the roof of a flaming building. I run up along the two timbers and launch myself at the massive beast.
I fly into its neck, knocking it off balance and sending it toppling to the ground.
Once it is down, I run and jump onto its chest, pointing the tip of my katana down at its throat.
"Where is Cervantes?" I ask.
"He is off over there, in the mountain that looks like a skull." the beast says, pointing over the flaming town towards the distant mountain range.
The beast sounds scared.
"Thanks." I say, before I slash my katana across his throat. Blood flows from the wound and soask the dirt beneath him as the flames from nearby building begin crawling up the beasts leg.
I run off the dead creature and drag Vincent's unconscious form away from the fire.
