We set out that night, and travelled for several weeks, closely following the Rouge Knights. By the tracks I could tell that we were less that a night behind, and were slowly gaining on them because of our swiftness and less numbers. Quexos often went ahead to scout out the road ahead, and one night at the end of the forth week we finally came into visual range of them.
I gathered me knights to me that night.
"I'll fly ahead and try to talk them down." I said, looking at every one of them. They all nodded back to me, and I concentrated on flying, and looked towards the group of Rouge Knights.
I silently flew through the air towards them, and softly landed just ahead of Xanedyer. He looked surprised to see me, and quickly drew his steel bladed sword.
"Hello Marius." He said through gritted teeth.
"That's master Marius." I said, putting an angry rasp into my voice. He took a step back.
"Not anymore." He said, coming forward with his blade drawn.
"I do not wish to fight you." I said, but I layed my hand on the hilt of my sword. He stopped his advance and glared at me.
"What do you want?" He demanded.
"I wish for you and your Rouge Knights to return to The Order." I said. He shook his head.
"We're not following under any leadership of yours right now. Not now, not ever." Xanedyer said, swinging his blade vertically at me.
I sidestepped the attack, and he grew angry.
"I said I didn't wish to fight." I said angrily. He swung horizontally at me, and I jumped high into the air to avoid being struck.
I landed softly behind him, and he swung his blade in a backhanded slash towards my back. I turned around, pulled my black bladed sword from its sheath and blocked the attack well before his blow would've landed.
"Yield. You know you are beaten." I said, shoving his blade aside and pointing the tip of my blade at his throat.
"I'd never yield to you." He said, bringing his blade up against mine and pushing it away.
"I hoped it wouldn't come to this." I said.
He smirked, and an arrow flew from the darkness surrounding us and nailed Xanedyer on the shoulder. The suddenness of the impact hurtled him to the ground, and he shouted in anger as he ripped the arrow from the wound.
He threw it to the ground, sheathed his sword and ran off with the rest of his knights until I could no longer see them.
I turned, and two figures emerged from the dark. One was a man wearing a long black trench coat, and wielded a black blade like my own. The other was a woman wearing the same, wielding a dark blue blade that looked similar to the man's.
"What were you thinking? I've been tracking him for near a month!" I said angrily.
"Well, I could've let him live and have the rest of his men kill you. Would you have liked that?" the man rasped.
I gritted my teeth and sheathed my sword.
"Who are you?" I asked.
"Strycnine Darkblade. This is Adra." Strycnine said, motioning towards himself, and the woman at his side.
"What do you want?" I asked.
"I too have been tracking this Xanedyer for almost a week. I've also been looking for you." Strycnine replied.
"Why me?" I asked.
"Because, although you do not know it, word of your Order's noble acts throughout the land, and I have come to join." he replied.
I nodded.
"Then I'll make you a student for now. Do you wish to join as well?" I said, before asking Adra.
She nodded. I nodded as well.
"Well, it appears The Order has recruited two more students." I said, and we all waited until the rest of my knights showed up, and we set off after Xanedyer.
