Of the 30 000 enemy soldiers, we had killed 25 000 of them, and they all lay dead in and around the castle. Of the 9 000 white armoured guards, 450 were still alive, of the 1 000 king's soldiers, roughly 100 of them were still alive, and of the 1 000 knights who had arrived, I was the only one left alive.
A deadly mix of sadness and rage boiled within me as I approached the king's throne room after the battle.
"What can I do for you Marius?" he asked.
"Nothing, your highness. I'm just coming to tell you I'm leaving and I won't be back." I said.
"Where are you going?" the king asked, a confused look coming over his face.
"I'm going to go kill Janet, Janet's general and anyone stupid enough to stand between me and them." I said, clenching my fist tighter around Kathleen's ring.
"Not without us." Inekwar said, his mother standing beside him. I shook my head.
"No. You two will stay here." I said, putting an angry force behind my voice as I spoke.
Inekwar and his mother crossed their arms and stayed silent, and I turned back to the king. The king gave me a nod of respect, for I had surely earned it.
I walked away from the king's castle that night, armed with my armour, my black bladed sword and my hunger for revenge.
