A huge bonfire roars near the caves where Kendrick's people were staying. We had returned there soon after the fight with Cervantes, and we gave his people the good news.
That was two days ago. The celebration had not stopped since. I slept during the day and joined the celebration by night, trying to have fun. I had an immense thirtst for blood, so I brought someone into the cave I slept in and quenched my thirst. But soon after I rejoined the celebration.
When dawn approached the second night of the celebration, Kendrick approached me. He took my hand and shook it.
"Thank you for your help my friend." He says, smiling. It was the first time I had seen him smile since I met him.
I smile back. "No problem. It was a long and difficult road, but we destroyed Cervantes." I say, shaking his hand and taking it back.
We stand in silence as the celebration continues.
"When are you going?" He asks.
"Well, it's too close to dawn for me to leave yet, so I'll sleep one more night in the cave and head out at nightfall tomorrow." I explain.
He nods. "And what about your vampiric friend?" He asks.
"Oh he left right after we defeated Cervantes. I have a feeling I'll see him again in the future." I say. Kendrick nods again.
We stand in silence for a few moments, until I feel somewhat tired and see the sky starting to brighten.
"Well, I'm going to sleep. I'll see you all again at nightfall." I say, turning and heading towards my cave.
I wake at nightfall, and much to my surprise, Kendrick and his people are still celebrating.
Kendick approches me and shakes my hand one last time.
"So you're leaving now?" He asks.
"Yeah." I say, looking around. The massive bonfire hurts my eyes.
"Well, the best of luck to you in all your travels." He says, giving me a quick smile.
I smile back. "Thanks." I say, before turning my back towards the massive bonfire and walking away.
I walk into the darkness surrounging the celebration, and it soothes me.
I continue walking, awaiting the next challenge that will summon my name.
