We arrived after several weeks, and when we returned everybody was glad to see me return. They were uneasy about Strycnine and Adra, but I trusted them, and so The Order trusted them as well. "How did everything go?" Luke asked, after our arrival when we sat outside The Order's headquarters. "Xanedyer is dead. Those who remained loyal to him have been slain by Strycnine and Adra. Those who weren't so loyal followed us back." I said, resting my booted feet on a rock before me. Luke nodded. "Good. I like your idea about the leadership. We'll need a solid system like that in place to prevent further divisions among the knights." Luke said. I nodded. "Well, we're going to have to come up with a leader to oversee everything." I said. As much as I loved leading missions against enemies in the area and as much as I loved The Order, I don't think I could take being its leader. "Well, I've talked it over with the knights already, and they think we're both fit for the job, so it wouldn't make a difference to them." Luke commented. I smiled and stood, before laying my hand on Luke's shoulder. "My friend, you're now the Head Knight of The Order. I pray you lead us well." I said, looking down at my friend. As he stood, I pulled my hand back and looked out at the dark horizon. A gust of wind ruffled my hair, and we stood in silence. Quexos emerged from the cave, and looked at Luke and I before he spoke. "Have you two decided yet?" He asked, referring to who would become the Head Knight of The Order. I saw Luke smirk, and I turned to Quexos. "Luke is the first Head Knight of The Order." I said. Luke turned to Quexos. "And I fail to live up to my expectations, Marius will be the Head Knight." He said, quickly looking at me. I smirked and nodded, and Quexos smiled as well before turning and walking back into The Order's headquarters. I turned back to the dark horizon, and I felt arms around my neck. I smiled, and knew it was Kathleen. I looked up at her, and she kissed me softly. "Glad to have you back." She said with a smile. "My love, it is good to be back." I said, and we all sat watching the dark horizon.
