The boss stood over me, and I saw a bony, skeletal hand land on his shoulder.
"This time you have gone too far." Death said.
"Back off! I own you!" the boss shouted in anger.
"You control us no longer." Death rasped.
"You foolish horsemen!" the boss said as he laughed.
Death held his bony hand out and his palm faced the boss. A huge gust of wind suddenly ripped across the hellish plains, blowing fiercely at the boss.
The wind grew in intensity, and the boss soon had trouble standing in place.
"No! You won't be rid of me!" he shouted.
Death continued to press his attack, and the wind continued to grow in intensity.
Soon the other horsemen joined in, each facing their palms towards their former boss. The wind's intensity grew threefold, and the boss could no longer stand.
"I shall return! Dreamland shall be mine!" he shouted as his grip gave way and he vanished into the dark abyss beyond the hellish plains.
"In time maybe Dreamland shall be yours, but it is the Supreme Being's will." Death said softly to himself.
I looked around, and realized that during the fight I had dropped to the ground, and I was lying on my side, watching the whole ordeal take place.
Death turned to me and offered me his hand.
"You are truly the defender of the weak and the seeker of justice." he said.
"All in a day's work." I winced as I stood.
The Four Horsemen gathered together before me and Inekwar.
"What will become of you?" I asked.
"Dreamland shall be his in time, according to the will of the Supreme One. And we shall remain hidden until that day, when the fires once again consume the ground and it is the end of all things." Death explained.
I nodded slowly.
"He is very impressed with you." Death said, looking up for a moment before gazing at me with empty eye sockets.
"Who?" I asked.
"The Supreme One. He wishes for you to remain as the defender of the weak and seeker of justice here in Dreamland." Death said.
I nodded slowly before looking up. A white shimmering light appeared, shining down around Inekwar and myself.
"I supposed I can do that." I said, and the light brightened. A shimmering aura surrounded me, and the wound that the evil one had inflicted upon me closed up and healed itself. The crack in my armour from his sword was reforged, and everything was made as new.
My sword's blade became like flame, with a shining golden hilt. My white cape vanished, replaced by two outstretched angel wings. My armour glowed as bright as the shining bright aura around me, before it all vanished.
When it vanished, the angel wings had been replaced by a white cloak, which was wrapped around my shoulders. The hood was back, and my hair was longer and shaggier than the regular soldier look I'd been going for.
"You are the Horseman of Life. Go, protect the weak and seek justice." A deep voice said, surrouding me. Another flash of white light surrounded us, and when it faded, the Four Horsemen were gone, and Inekwar and I stood alone on a grassy plain, far from where out camped army slept. There was dead silence, save for the bubbling creek that was nearby.
We stood alone, knowing that what just happened would be kept between the two of us.
"Father are you alright?" Inekwar asked me.
"I'm fine. Why?" I asked.
"Your eyes..." Inekwar started.
I walked over to the creek and looked at my reflection. My eyes were completely white and soulless, and my appearance had totally changed. My hair was still black, only longer than it'd been before. I was more pale than I had been before, but looked much more confident.
This was the Supreme One's gift to me. The eyes to see the evil in people and the will to destroy it.
I knew not what my life now had in store for me, but I could only wait to find out.
