The enemy's 30, 000 troops came bearing down upon the king's castle like water upon rock. Almost immediately after they came into sight seige towers and seige ladders were moved towards the walls. "Archers fire!" I shouted at the archers around me, who lacked leadership in the suddenness of the enemy attack. They sent a volley of arrows down upon the 30, 000 troops, and killed a score of them, but the ladders were placed along the wall. I drew my sword and joined the soldiers at the tops of the ladders as they began fighting off the enemy soldiers climbing up them. Enemy crossbow bolts were fired up at the soldiers defending against the ladders and soldiers, striking most of them down. With the lack of soldiers defending the position, a whole crop of enemy soldiers began climbing up onto the ramparts and fighting amongst the king's soldiers. "Like hell you'll take us over that easy." I muttered to myself, before charging straight into the formation of enemy soldiers. I beheaded one quickly and fought my way through the rest until I reached the ladder they had come up on. I booted it over quickly, and it fell down into the ranks of the enemy army, killing some of the soldiers below. The king's soldiers around me easily dispatched of the enemy soldiers now stranded on the ramparts, and they moved back to the edges of the ramparts as the archers continued to fire volleys of arrows. The white armoured soldiers were fighting well against the tide of enemy soldiers, and held their positions through intense fighting. They destroyed a seige tower and had killed any soldiers who had survived the trip to the top of the wall. A seige tower was moving in on the vampiric section of the wall, which the Order's archers took down with ease. They released a flood of flaming arrows into the base of the tower, killing or setting ablaze the soldiers moving it, and also burning the baee of the tower to the point where it collapsed. It fell back on the enemy army, still ablaze, and created a huge flaming mass of wood before that section of the wall, which made it unapproachable to the enemy soldiers. The vampiric troops there then pulled back and joined other units of soldiers along the wall, and were replaced by several units of archers, which began firing massive clouds of arrows down into the enemy ranks. Then Janet pulled a move I didn't expect at all. Catapults with spheres filled with explosives were moved into sight, and they started launching the deadly spheres at the wall. The first explosion bloomed near the position of some of the king's soldiers, which either killed, blew apart, or burned half of the soldiers stationed there. With the soldiers thinned out in that section, the enemy soldiers placed three ladders along the wall and started rushing up onto the ramparts. A tide of enemy troops arrived on the ramparts, and began spreading themselves out, engaging and fighting white armoured troops, the king's soldiers or the Order's knights all along the wall. I joined a group of the king's soldiers and started fighting back the enemy soldiers, but I knew it would only be a matter of time before they overran us.
