My group of troopers met up soon after I dispatched Kathleen to gather them together. We huddled close in a cirlce a few miles away from the enemy's encampment, and I discussed the plans.
"What's the plan?" Vincent asked.
"There's a bridge across a river a few miles from here that the army will surely have to take across in order to get to the road leading to the king's castle." I said.
"What about it?" Strycnine asked.
"We take it out. Without that bridge, they'll be forced to take another way around, which could take weeks. That'd surely give the king enough time to properly equip his army and prepare to defend his castle." I said.
"I like this plan." Athran said.
I nodded.
"So what've we gotta do?" Quexos asked.
"You my friend, will go and make sure the road to the bridge is clear of scouts. They're all over this plaace, and I want that road to be clear before the demolition team moves in." I ordered.
Quexos nodded.
Kathleen spoke up.
"What do we do?" she asked.
"We're going to take the bridge out with whatever we can find." I said. Kathleen nodded.
We sat in silence for a moment before I spoke again.
"Quexos, you take Vincent and Strycnine and go clear the area of scouts. The rest of us will go and take out the bridge. Let's not take too long with all this." I said, and my group split into two groups and went our seperate ways.
I ducked into the darkness surrounding our meeting place and started heading towards the bridge, making sure to let Vincent, Quexos and Strycnine head out ahead of my group to clear the area of scouts.
As I darted past the enemy's encampment I heard a voice. A voice from a person who I thought I would never see again.
I stopped, and looked down at their encampment as their leader delivered a speech.
