On The Eve of Things

Feeling: peeved
So I'm finally back on my diary. For the longest time (two days) I've been unable to enter anything; and now I'm back in black. WEll, not quite back in black because I'm only wearing black pants... but it's all good. It's currently Christmas eve (hence hte title) and my house is very peaceful (hence the mood). I suspect that the only reason that it's quiet is because my dad isn't home as yet. Once he comes home things'll get shook up a bit - in a good way though. I'm somewhere in between happy and mellow right now. More happy though. Mainly because: A. I'm still alive, w/ all of my bodily parts intact and functioning B. Christmas Eve C. I got an email from an awesome someone which is enough right there to make me happy D. I'm finally back on my diary. So yea, it's really odd how that worked out. Back right before Christmas. *ponders* So unfortunately I wasn't able to write anyting yesterday on account of me helping my mother bake. Yes I do bake - quiet you. My mom is probably the best in the house, most of what I learned I picked up from her. Everything she makes always tastes good - we suspect that she's either using MSG or Love in the food - still can't figure out which one it is. Every her simple sandwhiches taste super good; or so all my friends say. My dad's alright at baking, but he's better at cooking, for a guy. Not to say that all guys can't cook because I know that some of the bes cooks are males and blah, blah, blah, but the average male usually requires a lot of assistance in the ways of cooking. Now that's not to say that I'm above average cause we all know that I'm below average, but slowly I'm trying ot pick up little thigs here and there. I'm alright at cooking, not too bad at baking. To be hoesnt I prefer to cook then to bake but it's all good.I only remember one time when I screwed up and that wasn't even my fault. I got a recipe from a fiend of mine and it called for Molasses... a lot of molasses and I was somewhat worried that it would have been too much but she assured me that it was the right amounts. Well to make a long story short, instead of gingerbread I ended up with Molasses loaf. I wasted five dollars Canadian ( About$3.75 american, 115 Russian or 3 Euros),plus hydro! So a word to the wise, if ever you're cooking with molasses, be weary. And while we're talking about that, watch out for vanilla extract (mixed essence) too. If you have to change things up a little bit do it - go with your instincts... that is, unless you're usually wrong. Then youmight want to talk things over with someone who knows what they're doing. So yea, if you've got any baking/ cooking horror stories or any questions on the issues just leave it in my comment tray and I'll see what I can do. Wait, here it is Christmas eve and I'm sitting here talking about baking. I really got to stop rambling off so much- not cool. So it's Dec 24th; one week until new years. Another year down, ready or not we've got to go into 2004, perhaps even with our pants down. Another year older another year closer to death. Well, at least that's how I see it. A lot of people think that's a bad way to look at things, but I say it reality, get use to it. Ha, that reminds me of a line from Robin Williams Live on Broadway (2002 release). If you haven't heard it or have no idear what I'm talking about then you should go out there and rent it, buy it, download it or even bumb it off a friend. It's rather funny, I think you'd like it. Unless you're like my mother, she rarely has a sense of humour but she's a good lasse for the most part. You've got ot be in the mood to hear the comedy stylings of Robin Williams, he is funny though. I particularly enjoyed the part where he started to talk about the scottish. Maybe it's just because I'm part scottish, but I found it to be funny. "You realize how drunk they get, they could wear a skirt and not care!" Good ole kilts. I'm told that I don't look that bad in a skirt/ dress / kilt, but I'm not too sure I believe it. Oh well, by the looks of it my time here has run short :o( So I'll be off then. Merry Christmas, Happy Hannakah, Merry Quwanza and for those of you who don't celebate any of the above - good day. Oh and if you want, you can read my previous entry which I just put up today for 12/22/03. *shakes fists at computer* Cheers, -Captain B. Merry
