Listening to: The O.C Supertones- Perseverance of the Saints
Feeling: alright
As much as I love Christmas, I can't stand "the holidays" and everything that comes along with that. I just think that when so much good is supposed to come out of the holiday season, everyone (in America anyways) makes it so bad by bringing such a large portion of commercialism and materialism into Christmas... which completely strips it of its meaning and makes it such a complacent thing to the vast majority. I just went to the mall today and everyone was so mean to each other and treating each other so badly over gifts for people that are supposed to be lasting marks of the symbolism that comes from Jesus being born. But, apparently, Christmas isn't about Jesus anymore... and much to my dismay, it's about "the Christmas spirit" and getting presents and spending money... which, in my opinion, is completely far-fetched. I remember an episode of Futurama not too long ago where everyone in the year 3000 had completely forgotten about the meaning of Christmas and it was actually just called X-Mas to completely strip the important holiday of all significance. I can totally see something like that happening in the not-too-distant future. Anyways, I feel really bad for Hadas right now, I can't even imagine how she feels knowing that her "ex-boyfriend" if you can even call him that has completely ditched her for some other girl (named Emily for that matter(...not that I have anything against girls named Emily)). But I think Hadas deserves much better than that, she's one of the nicest, and most respectable people I know. Goodnight all.
