Listening to: The Shins- Pink Bullets
Feeling: stuck
This weekend was beautiful. Really though. I didn't have much human interaction, but I really did have a nice time. I love being able to attend high-school football games as a high school student and socialize with my peers and simply meet people and get to know friends better. The games are such a classic, standardized hangout for high school, so when you think about it, why would you not go? Sure you have your blatantly ignorant kids, and your purposely depressed kids, but they're all what make up your time in high school, so why not get to know them. You've only got four years of it, might as well make the most of them. After the game I went home and went straight to bed to prepare me for the next morning. I had to be back at school by 6:30 for a cross-country meet. We took a nice drive down to Glendale, and to tell the truth, I was very proud of myself by the end of the morning. In two weeks time, I've gone from a 21:45 5K, to a 19:30 5K. We all had a great time and ate plenty of buffet pizza and breadsticks afterwards. I think one of the nicest parts of my weekend though was Saturday night. All the cross-country kids had decided to go to see "Without A Paddle" at the Harkin's on Shea Boulevard, so I figured I'd join all of them. I got there a few minutes late, so I figured they were already in the theater, but nobody was there. Now while you'd think I'd be upset at this (which I guess I initially was), I really wasn't. I think it's a really re-affirming thing when you can be by yourself for a longer period of time, and not need someone there to constantly observe your actions. I think just driving to and from was nice enough. One of my favorite things on the planet earth is driving at night. It's the coolest thing when there's no traffic on Hayden, and it's green lights for miles. Looking back, it's been a nice relief. Have a sweet week guys.
