Autumn Aspirations

Listening to: Chicago- Beginnings
Feeling: delicious
Once again, I'm writing at the very tail-end of my weekend, but this weekend was different. This weekend was simply magnificent. Saturday was the most productive day False Jazz has seen in a LONG time. We solidified three full songs... choruses, verses and all. I didn't think that it would be that great of a practice because our drummer (Kris) was in California, and both of our guitar players had other obligations. I later found out that I was definitely wrong on that note (note... ha, no pun intended). It was just me on acoustic guitar and our four horn players working everything out and being adults to figure out the best possible music we could make out of our talents and ranges. It was so great you guys. I think part of our productiveness (not to be rude) was due to the abscense of our guitar players, it seems like whenever we have Jared and TJ there (as much as I love them) we're so counter-productive, because they like to get off on tangents so often that we never get any real work done, but rather end up having heard the same goofy riffs dozens of times. And to top that all off, I got to lead the worship band this morning at my church, which was excellent. This was a great weekend my friends, I hope you had an equally excellent time. One more thing I realized, before I go. (abrupt subject changer) I just realized that it's really important to be involved in pop culture. Now before you cuss me out, let me explain myself. Without knowing what popular culture is all about, how are we going to know about the society we live in, we're actively a part of this generation, whether we like it or not. So why not go buy some CDs you wouldn't traditionally listen to, play some video games from time to time, and go to school activities, oftentimes the stuff you don't even think about make up the bulk of the good times in your life. That's really all I have to say for now, but hey, have a great week kids and ask someone to Homecoming now (before it's too late). Sleep well kids.
