Sounds Like

I'm choking on the thought of it, Being strangeled by the call of it, I'm dying for the end of it, What of it comes out of it? Come off and get off of it. I'm so surprised that you're still learnin', Amazed to see wheels turnin', As I sit in a classroom with gloss in my eyes So hypnotized By your teachin', So crytonized By your preachin', Yet you're surprised By the force that pulls back At everything you're reachin'. It's your truths I can't follow the words all sound hollow. If only you could find a blank mind to borrow-- Lecture and brainwash about a brighter tomorrow. Teach him that guns are bad and resorting to violence only makes you weak. Then pull him from his happy place and enlist him the next week. And maybe, baby, we could make a difference in the world, Reach out and touch the people-- every boy and every girl. I can't wait to make a difference in this daily pursuit for change, a new way to arrange the sad and darranged in a hopeful exchange I suppose you think it's easy Being somebody like me; Always keep busy Life's as grand as it could be. Everything is golden, I've got diamonds in my ears. Friends and one true love to dry away my falling tears. I'm on a higher ground--a platform-- Where the air is crisp and clear. But there's tension and stress and there's pressure And sometimes it's hard to breathe here. Everything's a promise and it's all about tomorrow-- The end of war and hunger, of apathy and sorrow. We've been waiting, waiting, waiting Still nothing comes our way Tomorrow never comes This is just one continuous day. We need progression from depression, assention from recession. I know- Lets have meeting after meeting to discuss the problems we're seeing. Talkie-talkie-talkitty talk talk--
