Two Days To-Day

Well friends, can you believe that Kris and I have been together for a full year? Shocking, isn't it? Ok, not really. But last night was our one year and it was a fantastic night. He surprised me with a really nice dinner at Black Angus and then a show at the Gammage, Little Shop of Horrors. I was glowing with excitement! Snaps to him for a wonderful night. : ) I move in to my dorm in TWO days. I can't believe it. Yesterday mom and I went and bought a TON of stuff for my dorm--the fridge, microwave, dishes, storage bins, and other odds and ends. I've barely started packing. I've done my bathroom. That's it. Since I'm only moving about 25 minutes down the road, packing everything up doesn't seem like that big of a deal because if I forget something or decide I do or don't need something, I can just run (drive) back home, easy. I've talked to my roommate, Tanisha, a little more. She bought a shower curtain and an area rug. No idea how this stuff is going to look, but I guess that's the excitement of moving in with a stranger. She seems like a nice girl anyway. I can already tell that we don't have a great deal in common, but enough that we'll be able to get along and be friends. I was thrilled to learn that she's just bringing headphones up, rather than a stereo, because I already knew that we have very different taste in music. I might actually pass on bringing my stereo up as well. I think it will all depend on how much room we have. The good news is, I talked to Heather, who's lived in McClintock, and she's positive we're in the larger rooms; I was trilled. Anyway, I've got to do some more packing and organizing. I've already got another list going of more things I've realized I need. I guess it never really ends...I'm also still in denial that I'm actually going to school and not just moving out. I'm prepared for the blow of my first class though, when I have to remember how to write with a pen and dust up my note-taking abilities... Happy trails to all those preparing for the big change!
