Yay, elections!

Exciting night!! I was buckled down at the Blaze 1260 am tonight, on the air with live election coverage. It was a little stressful because I didn't feel like I had enough preparation, but I still got to say everything I wanted to say so that was good. It was very exciting to be covering an election, especially such an important one as this where we are *finally* seeing a shift in power favoring the Democrats. If you want to look for reasons, you'll find them everywhere, from the war in Iraq to a continal break-out of republican scandals. I don't think the Democrats needed to do much mudslinging this campaign season, rather, the republicans surrendered their own seats. As far as the homefront is concerned, I myself am very pleased with the outcome. Janet Napolitano, obviously having this reelection in the bag--most impressed by her clean, very positive campaign; not much money spent, and she didn't need to. She has enough party loyalty and even in a red state, she has proven herself a very strong, positive leader. Also pleased about other Democratic conquors; Mitchell--a bit of a surprise, in my opinion, I was still undecided about him until a few days ago when Clinton came and endorsed him. Sad about Pederson losing to incumbent Kyl, not that I particuarly favor Pederson, but again, this is a campaign of power in Washington, and every Democratic vote helps to swing the country in a new directon. Overall, I believe it was a very uplifting campaign. A few weeks ago the Republicans had begun to lift their chins again with hopes of changing the minds of voters before election day, but in the end it appears that the American people have spoken; we've had enough! Best thing about the election bein over; no more campaign ads!! Back to my radio experience, like I said, a bit stressful but very exciting, very on-the-fly and all improvisation...a good experience to have under my belt and I felt very honored to have been selected to be a part of it.
