Exhausted and Happy

Signing off from a very good weekend. Saturday was busy with RA training; all fun and games, really, nothing too serious. That night, Center Complex walked to Cafe Boa on Mill for dinner, which was surprisingly fun. I got to know all the people sitting at my table and enjoyed some good conversation. I really like the people on my staff and I hope that we all continue to bond as the year takes off and progresses. It is so nice to be in a crowd of people and not have to worry about being alone because someone is bound to start a conversation with you. After the dinner, I jetted home in excitement to see my honey and family again. Stopped by the Millers, heard a short re-cap of band camp, and then Kris and I escaped to our weekend get away--my house! Tim is out of town so Jackie spent the night, which was really something special. It's been so long since my sister and I were under the same roof and sharing a bathroom! About the house; it's AWESOME. The pool is totally done and SO much fun! It's a walk-in with a large shallow portion so when the doggies are feeling brave, they wade around in the shallow part, creening their necks to get close to us in the deeper part. Cody still yips at people in the pool but I'm determined to get him used to it; it's so obnoxious. Dad also started working on the pond portion of the waterfall in the living room. He and mom added some plants in that room and in the pond and it looks so placid and cool in there, I can't wait to see it when it's all done! More drapes were hung, the pendent lights in the kitchen were finally installed, and our sound system is finally installed! We have a mother of a remote to make it all work (I haven't even attempted to figure it out yet). Sunday (today) was really nice, and really long. Kris and I got up and met his parents at church--awful service, but I guess church isn't really about entertainment, now is it? Anyway, we skipped lunch to get back home. Went swimming--it felt soooo good! Pony is such a blast! Got some sun; well, I got some sun, Kristofer became a lobster in certain spots. But it was so much fun just being with the family. After a very early supper, everyone helped me load up the rest of my college stuff and we trucked it down to the dorm. Didn't take us that long to unload and after about an hours labor, my room looks pretty good! Still needs detaling, but it's such a vast improvement from last year! And the best part is, it's all my stuff! NO ROOMMATE! (except Kristofer, of course). I am SO happy though! Travis helped with the move and after my family left, the three of us went out for ice cream and now here I am, back again in the icky honors dorm for more RA training. But the surprising part of it is, I don't dread being here. Carrie
