Here we are

Dear reader, Sometimes it's easier to write as if I'm writing a letter to an old friend, rather than just a summary for no one. I'm sitting in our little study area in our house. It's pretty cozy in here, though I need to hang up some pictures or something. The walls are so stark, makes it kind of hard to get comfortable, although I guess it's easier to concentrate without the distractions of staring at paradise. Our first week of school is over and I finally feel like I've got a real grasp on things. Granted, I feel like I've hardly begun the school aspect of returning to college. The hardest part about the first week has always been making last minute adjustments to my schedule, figuring out time blocks, yada yada yada. I had an interview with Wetseal, a girl's clothing store and got the job - yay! I go in for training tomorrow morning, so wish me luck. On top of that, I'll still be nannying for my sister three days a week, which is where I'm really going to be making money AND I get to spend time with Mackenzie, so it's a good deal. Speaking of the little drop of sunshine, there were big doin's around here today. Mackenzie was baptized. The church did a special dedication for the brand new baptismal font (it's really quite beautiful), the Millers and my mom and I played hand bells and it was really a very nice service all around. Afterwards was a reception at Jackie and Tim's of brunch and pictures and catching up with close friends and family. Matt and Kelly were there so I was talking to them about their journey into entering the peace corps. They said they had their interview the other day but it won't be until October until their application will be sent anywhere to receive a calling. Apparently it's different for couples. Anyway, all the roomies are home so it's time to organize and socialize. Hope all is well with you. Carrie
