Another Life to Live

It's been a couple days since my last update, which implies not that I have nothing to say, but that I've been too busy to say anything at all. SO, for the reader's digest version of the week: Kris and I had our last dance lesson, he's finally getting over that throat/congested thing, we were both nominated for Winter courts, along with Paul and Mason, he was selected to sing All-Star for Century of song, I got a C on my math test, but an A on my physics test, Mrs. Hanely LOVED the video I made for our last project, and for a little more details from Friday on... Thursday night was the cultural diversity concert where all the performing arts perform "for each other". Dance and orchestra (the ones who arranged the thing) all left early and band was last to perform. Nik and I did a scene we had pulled together from first quarter and, much to our surprise, it went over very well and people are still commenting about it, so that was cool. Band sounded (for the most part) pretty good. The Battle Hymn of the Republic with Voices sounded amazing, minus the trumpet intro. Got home at about ten that night, didn't sleep much and then woke up at 3:15 to be at school at 4:30 (AM, mind you) for a gig at DR; a very scary, nazi nissan breakfast thing with a bunch of car salesmen trying to take over the world (California and texas) by selling cars. I was very ashamed to be driving a Nissan that day). Anyway, three hours there, two minutes of actually playing, but the band got paid $600, so that was good. After that though we still had school and after school I had flute choir till 4:30, and then finally went home to rest. Kris and I didn't win King and Queen (which was exactly what we were hoping for because if we had won, it meant going to the carnival that night, which neither one of us had the interest or energy to do). So anyways, it was an early night. Then, this morning, woke up at 7:00 to have my pictures taken for Cotillion. So got the big poofy gown on, the uncomfortable underwear, the layers of make-up, the icky hair spray, etc., get my pictures done (David, the photography, was really good and really nice too). After that, went to the bridal show with mom and Jaxx, then lunch at Hard Rock, and finally home. Played an intense game of checkers with Kris, took some more pictures of CK (I printed one...reeeeeaally good), and then mom and I went up to Jaxx house for a martini party. I had an orange crush- very tasty, might I add. The dinner was catered with full service and absolutely fab--it was nice to just everyone sitting down, talking and laughing with no one constantly getting up to clear dishes or refill drinks or anything. 15 very chatty girls, each with at least one martini in their stomachs. It was a fun night. I'm skipping out on church tomorrow because skipping out on sleep doesn't seem like such a good idea to me. In fact, I plan on sleeping as long as my limbs can handle it. Sidenote: I keep having very bad, random visions. Friday night, I fell asleep when kris and I were watching a movie and although I wasn't asleep for very long, it was long enough for me to be driving in a car and hit a girl on her bike. It scared me awak. And today I had a vision of me crying into someone's arms. I'm being vague about this for the sake of myself, but it worries me. I wish my mind wouldn't do this to me. I'm so happy right now, I can't imagine what's leading me to have these...whatever they are. Anyways, that's my long-winded update for tonight. I'm trying not to stress out about the coming weeks, and just remembered I have 100 notecards due on Monday for my research paper...CRAP. Carrie
