Time Clock

I don't know why everyone gets so excited about the end of the semester. Sure, we're almost outta here, but the end of the semester means the biggest workload than was ever faced during the semester. This evening I saw a friend in the library, doing research. He usually greets me smiling and calls me Sweetcheeks. Tonight, a lame hello and how's it going, no smile, all stress. I felt sorry for him. Damn semester end. But don't misconstrue my pessimism for lack of excitement. I am very excited this semester is drawing to a close. No more French, no more living in the dorms, no more stress, no more sensations of feeling torn. In two weeks I'll be home for the summer, soaking up the rays in between work shifts and spending quality time with the ones I care about most. A bunch of my residents are playing volleyball below me. I would have joined them but I've got too much to take care of. French test tomorrow morning, speech tomorrow night, and a lot of reading and critiquing due by Wednesday. I've also got a bunch of interviews on Wednesday for an internship for the fall. Only 3 more days of Independent Newspapers. Alright, well I have a head ache and more studying to do I suppose...before I go, I should note that I did have a good weekend. Woke up early (growling) Saturday morning for a program for Earth Day. We didn't have a big turn-out (I didn't expect we would at 9:30 on a Saturday morning after 4/20...) but I got to paint a couple pots and plant some flowers, so that made me happy. It also made me realize that, despite my brown thumb, I do enjoy gardening. I think it runs in the family. From my grandmas, at any rate. Anyway, I didn't get much sleep last week due to a number of things, so I ran away from here the other night and spent the evening with CK and Kroy. Friday we went to the mall for dinner and a movie (and I ran away to do shopping). Last night I brought over homework and we had a low-key night, just the three of us. So besides all the homework, it wasn't too bad of a weekend. Back to the books... Carrie PS- Thank you all for the name suggestions. I'll consider them.
