well, there was a fire...

I'm writing this at 1 in the morning, not because I've turned into a night-owl like everyone else here, but because a half an hour ago the fire alarm went off. As we emerged from our dorms and saw kids running up and down the halls, word quickly got to us that there actually was a fire. Either by accident or with direct intent, the dumpster behind our dorm was in flames. We could see the smoke and flickers of fire quivering above the rooftops. Of course Tanisha and I were the most nervous of anyone because our room is closest to the dumpster. As we headed out the front to Hayden Lawn, we saw the flashing lights of police cars and the eerie orange glow of the fire. Luckily, the fire was put out fairly quickly and with no damage to the dorm or any other building, and we didn't have to wait too long to return to our dorm. So here we are, back in the security of knowing our precious posessions aren't being melted by a prankster, waiting for the excited buzz of the dormitory to die down. And such was the excitement of early October.
