here, read my essays for application to AP Statistics!!!
What do you have to offer to the AP program?
I, Liliya Plotkina, have many things to offer the Advanced Placement Program at McIntosh. Among my attributes are traits such as perseverance, determination, and good work ethic.
I am a perseverant person. Throughout my whole career as a student, I have taken advanced courses for my age and grade group. However, despite being told I could not pull an A average, I have done so year after year. I find time to study every day; my studies come before even my sport of choice, equestrian show jumping (I own two show horses, and participate in competitions about twice every month.) At the beginning of every semester, I set for myself a course grade goal, and this in turn drives me to succeed. I am also determined to do so-failure, to me, is not an option. My good work ethic makes success an option for me, and it is rare that I become slack in my studies. These reasons are why I would be an asset and not a handicap to the program.
Why do you want to take this class?
Advanced Placement courses are invaluable as college credits that can be completed in high school, and I would like to take this Advanced Placement Statistics course for this reason. I plan to apply to Veterinary school and study to become a large animal veterinary surgeon, and pre-vet school is difficult to get accepted into. The school's board will inevitably look at my resume to see if I have taken any college credit courses, and every one I take-even as early on as tenth grade-will help me later in life. Also, I have been advised by my mathematics educator to apply for this course as a good start towards my goal. I look forward to taking this course if I am accepted.
