as i was sitting in honors geometry staring blankly at the overhead screen and not comprehending anything mrs clancy was saying, i realized that i had never shared my thoughts on valentines day. i had put a summary of what happened, without a single name, in my diary thestarthtfell, but i had never shared what valentines day means to me. not that you actually care, but i thought id do it anyway. valentines day will probably make the word february give me a sensation of a chalky taste in my mouth until i am age 30. february has been the eh month for me for my whole life so far, because of valentines day. because when you are a kid, valentines day isnt about love and spending time with loved ones, its about chalky, stale little multicolored hearts with expressions like "be mine" and "too cool" and "call me" on them. it was about heart shaped suckers that taste like cherry cough medicine, and little pieces of paper with pokemon and power rangers on them that say stupid things on them. my personal favorites were during the "yin-yang, peace sign, heart, and smiley face" craze of the mid 90's"(when everyone was wearing a yin-yang necklace) the stupid ones that came with little cheap fake tattoos of those symbols where when you follow the directions on the back, only half of it comes off, but you were little so you showed it off anyway. OR, you put it on your face and your mom goes crazy and scrubs the a;lsdkfjasd out of your face until it is red. i dont know what valentines day means to me, as i am in the stage in between chalky hearts and moonlitwalksonthebeachmakingoutintherainandcandlelightdinnerswithyourvalentine. so yeah. if you wanna get real traditional, you could consider that valentines day is ACTUALLY St. Valentine's day, the feast day for the Catholic Saint. theres valentines day to me, in a nutshell. or, a diary entry. please, dont do this: *tell me you would never break up with me. or hurt me. or screw me over. ive heard it before, and its scaring me that you say it too. *tell me you love me if you dont heard that before too im scared, you are making me think you are like them. help. xoxo me
