sole = soul

I answer the phone— Ashley—“Front desk.” Room 133—“Hi there. Now this is probably a really silly question to ask, but…” Ash—“Okay, sir.” 133—“Yeah, it’s the little things that slip from your mind, y’know?” Ash—“Yes, sir. It’s hard to remember things sometimes.” 133—“Okay, so here it goes.” Pause. “How do you spell ‘soul’, as in ‘the devil take your soul’?” Ash—“S-o-u-l.” 133—“All right, that’s what I thought, but I couldn’t decide if it was s-o-u-l or s-o-l-e.” Ash—“Yeah, sometimes it’s hardest to spell the littlest words.” 133—“All right, well, thanks, ma’am.” Ash—“No problem, sir.” People call down to the desk for the strangest things. What’s funniest is that Aaron insists on spelling s-o-l-e for soul, and I couldn’t help laughing for that. My love's not the only one who does that.
