Word of the Day: genuflect Hey, remember that one time we woke up and found a glass of Sprite underneath the TV tray? That was hilarious. I mean, I still can’t get over that. And remember that message we got of someone inviting us to some party even though we were the wrong people? W e i r d. Weird, but so so funny. And then, remember that phone number we found on our white board? I never did figure out who that was. Okay, so I really didn’t try, but still, it’d be nice to know. ‘Uncle’s.’ I need to send my hair off to Locks of Love already. I need to do a whole lot of things. I ought to make a list, but I suppose I shan’t. It’s all little things, last-minute things, but the thing is that it’s not quite last-minute yet. I mean, I leave in a week yeah, but I shouldn’t be worrying about some of these things until Monday next. I still haven’t gotten my grades in but I got the Dean’s List letter today. That’s all I needed. I don’t really care what I made letter-wise, I’m just happy I made the Dean’s List and I’m happy with an ambiguously high GPA. Although I’m curious to know what I made my obligatory B in. I have a pattern that probably won’t be broken soon of getting some sort of B amidst my some sorts of A’s. I worked today and I work till Thursday. I feel as if I have to be on my best behavior [I just put a ‘u’ in ‘behavior’ and deleted it...word] because the new general manager-in-training is around, along with people from the corporate. So, instead of being able to read while I’m not doing anything, I have to stand around and look busy when there’s absolutely nothing at all to do. I print out unnecessary things an unnecessary amount of times. I flip pages as [I typed two ‘a’’s in ‘as’ and deleted it…what am I thinking of?] if I’m looking for something important, or relating something to something else. Oh, come on, I’m a hotel receptionist. There’s little to do apart from the first hour of the shift and when guests are at the desk. Just let me read a little! It’s not like I’m reading filth, it’s Austen for goodness’ sake. Okay, enough of that for now. I wonder what latitude Italy is on. I’m going to have to find that out somehow. I’ve been thinking of doing something. I have a plan, and it’s going to be pretty funny to me but not to many other people apart from me looking funny. But…I have to learn some things before I get going on that. Other than Italian. I really need to learn Italian. Apart from having to learn Italian in a week and wanting to do so many things there aren’t enough time for, I feel rather nonchalant about this whole abroad thing at the moment. I’m kind of getting tired of explaining to people why I’m going over the sea. And I’m getting tired of my mother worrying about money and papers and packing and things (I thought that was my job?!). I’m just getting nervous, I guess. It was like this before Rome in 2000, before EDSN [England, Denmark, Sweden, Norway] in 1998. It’s just that I don’t really think I believe I’m going to be in Rome for three and a half months starting a week from tomorrow. I wonder sometimes, what am I going to miss mostest? Different people ask me that and I find myself giving different answers each time. I don’t know what I’m going to miss most because there’s so much here to miss. Not only here, either—I’ve got to remember about the Irving camps and what’s up there. Will I cry? Yes, yes I’m sure I will. 9 days to Rome.

Ash, you surely say all the right things (thanks). It WOULD be a trip to meet, wouldn't it..two strangers come to know each other in the most unexpected ways in life (you were one of the first to say "Hi" to me here). I'd be scared to death to go to Italy (to go anywhere for that matter). I'm glad you are looking so forward to it! BTW, what does Terah mean (it wasn't in the first dictionary I used)? You'll soon be gone...:(

I'm sorry its taken me so long to get back to you! I hope you had a great Christmas and New Year :-).
RYN: If you're not really concerned about losing weight, don't put yourself through that stress. My Dissertation is about the representation of women in womens' magazines. I'm interested in my topic but finding it a bit of a challenge to write about.

I bet Rome will be a brilliant experience :-D.

True. The way we mess around, something is going to slip out. I've already told him that he's cute, so he knows that part of it. But, for God's sake, he drives a pick-up! I just can't resist that in a man! LoL ;o)
