charity week, day four: jail

It's Joe Landreneau!!! 11:45 pm last night Suddenly we hear rocks being thrown at our windows. We open them and there's Alex and Dan in their cute little bowties being cute as always. Alex has his guitar and Dan has his juggling stuff. It was time for our tuck-in to begin. They do some songs outside because Dan said it was easier to juggle the knives (!) in a lot of space. It was great. We got serenaded from our second-floor window. So they come in and make themselves comfortable and we all gather around and listen to Alex sing. Then he made us all get into our beds and they actually tuck us in with our stuffed animals and everything. Dan turned out the lights and Alex played this soft, soothing, Irish-type song that nearly put us all to sleep. The tuck-in was over. ____________________________________ I love Charity Week! So today was the first day the jail was open for professors. We took Hanssen to the jail, and she escaped in two minutes. She's so skinny, damn it, and she just climbed to the top and out of the slats. It was so anti-climactic. BUT--I did get to see spectacular breakouts. !. Dr. Waterman-Ward promised her class of freshman that if they acted out the end of the Iliad, she would go to jail. So they were acting it all out on the Mall in front of Gorman with everyone watching. Waterman-Ward eventually got put into the jail. For about ten minutes all was calm and quiet, which draws suspicion. All of a sudden I see little Dr. Waterman undrilling the side of the jail with an electric power drill! He got about two slats unscrewed before people started going after him. Everyone escaped and all was well. @. Dr. Brownsburger was put into jail. He waltzed in complacent enough. All of a sudden there was this controversy over a backpack being put into jail. There was a big fight which resulted in lots of boys with muddy pants and the backpack being put in the jail. Brownsburger ripped open the backpack and pulled out a little gas-powered chain saw (!!). While he was trying to get the little thing started, some guys were starting to push in the side of the jail like a door. By the time they got it all swung open, the jail was falling apart, everyone had escaped, and the light fixture was torn down from the roof. Destruction and mayhem are the natural characteristics of Thursday and Friday of Chairty Week. Today was such a beautiful day. It was a little cloudy in the morning with a chilly breeze, but then the clouds left and the breeze turned cool and autumn-like with the sun bronzing the skin. When the weather is like it has been, it makes me feel beautiful. Except that when the seasons change, my allergies act up and I can't breathe. But it's fine and dandy because I don't have class tomorrow (Bostaph's going to jail) and I can sleep as long as I want to. We just got a tuck-in from Aaron and Phil! Awwwwwwwwwww!! But no more tuck-ins for us, unless Kim wants to pay for one tomorrow.

I went to the old melbourne jail when I was at school, but I couldn't fit through the slats. I think australians are getting obese =]
