knitting is tedious

Word of the Day: zeitgeist Valentine's Day was, praised be Jesus, uneventful. Patrick hauled it in at the daycare with Valentines, and I'm going to eat the candy. Heh. JD got me a dozen duct tape roses, which are beautiful and will never die. Which means they're perfect for me. I actually got them a few weeks ago because he's about as impatient as I am with giving gifts. So a Holiday Inn inspector is coming tomorrow, I think, and we're getting prepared for it. They were planting flowers in front of the building, we got about a billon new mattresses that they've been swtiching out yesterday and today, they fixed the lights at the front desk today. Monica and I were wondering where they all of a sudden got all the money for this. But neither of us had time to ponder more than a couple of minutes. She was doing interviews most of the day while I was at the desk. It's getting really frusterating for me because I don't know where I'm supposed to be. Am I supposed to be in accounting? Because I'm not doing nearly half of what I'm supposed to be doing. Am I supposed to be at the desk? Because I'm up there at least twice a week. Why does no one tell me what's going on or what I'm suppose to be doing? I can't start working on anything big in the back because I know I'm going to be called to the desk eventually to cover or something. I don't feel like I'm doing anything at all. I don't want to jinx myself. Please call me back, please call me back, please call me back. Patrick's twelfth and final Mission Day is tomorrow. He turns one year old. Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. That's about all I've been able to say when people ask me about it. It's just amazing how little people grow. Last year, he was a helpless, squinty, tiny little baby, and now he can beat me up and laugh and walk and talk to himself and he's got hair and he's wearing jean pants and I could go on and on. I've been telling every single person who asks how Patrick is that it's his birthday on Thursday, I'm just so freaking proud. Of him, of me, of JD. I'm not going to do anymore Mission Days after twelve for him, though there will be extensive photo updates, calm down, people. We did the cake thing [where we gave him a tiny cake to destroy] on Sunday, and that was fun. I'll post pictures of that tomorrow with the rest of them. JD and I are going to the store tonight to buy cheese and crackers and grapes for the daycare to celebrate Patrick's berfday. Patrick's berfday!!!!! I just bought my watch a few minutes ago. I'm all giddy about it. Hurry, hurry, hurry.

YAY you got the one I voted for. That's because you have awesome taste, Ashley.

And darn tootin' you better be keeping us updated, even if it's not once a month. Maybe it should be twice a month now. hahahaha. I might not survive without updates.

And how 'bout that glow worm picture? I think about it every time you do a picture update.
