roommate debate

The Roommate Debate = oh so much fun! So Kim and I started quizzing each other on ourselves for an hour and a half. We didn't know what kind of questions they were going to ask, so we just decided to answer any question the both of us could think of. We actually covered a whole lot of ground in an hour and a half. So we all went to Lynch and got front row seats (which officially means that I'm cool, only because of my roommate) so that Kim, who got in her old-school, direct to VHS camcorder in today, could take video of the event. We were so ready. There were three rounds, and we knew every question about each other except three. Five pair got picked for each round, so we were pretty hopeful that we'd get picked (especially since Kate was running the thing and could easily hook us up). After three rounds, however, half of the auditorium was gone and we hadn't been picked. The officials decided to have a fourth round, and we were the first pair chosen. Thank you, Katie (although she said afterward she didn't do anything). Any road, Kim and her side went backstage and answered questions about me and my side while I answered the same questions about myself. Because Kim and I studied each other so extensively, we matched all five questions along with another pair. So there was a death match between Kim and me and MT and Jennifer, which they won. But they asked what my mother's maiden name was! How would we have thought of that?! So, we didn't advance to the final round, but we do consider ourselves fifth place. We each got a movie as a consolation prize. Kim got 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding' and I got 'Signs'. It was very fruitful, indeed. Why didn't I do this last year? And next week is Charity Week, my most favorite week of the school year. Who would be crazy enough to go to Rome in the fall and miss Charity Week?! _________________________ Ben Gibson, MC: 'What is the color of your shampoo bottle?' Me: 'Uhhhh...' [writes down 'clear' and looks out into the audience looking rather confused. Sees Nicole mouthing the word 'blue', feels stupid because that's our designated color for anything we hadn't discussed, crosses out the first answer, writes 'blue', and winks at Nicole in great thanks]
