There's a bridge tournament going on at the Holiday Inn this weekend, and I have to work this weekend. All the little old ladies came and checked in this morning and afternoon so that they can play their card game. I think it's silly, but it must be pretty important to them. There were some ladies who were nice and happy and were patient with me. Most of them wanted first floor rooms in the Holidome, but there are only so many of those rooms. The nice ladies didn't complain when they weren't able to get in the Holidome. Then there were some who were mean and complaining. They're all like, "We made these reservations in advance so that we could get the bottom floor in the Holidome, and we should be able to get them." It's hard to be nice to people like that. Of course, if I were an old lady who couldn't climb stairs and couldn't walk all that well and only wanted to play some competition bridge, I'd be complaining too if I couldn't get a first floor Holidome room. Considering that, I was completely on the other side of the stakes there. I'm the poor receptionist trainee who isn't too good at checking people in, who has a headache, and who's trying to be as nice and polite as possible. Thankfully, we got things taken care of without things getting thrown, and the ladies were able to start their tournament at 1:30 as scheduled with as little problems as possible. But ah, I just with people would read my nametag and be patient with me. It's so frustrating when I'm trying to do things as quickly as possible and I'm pressing all the wrong buttons and I log off of the system and delete all the information I just got, and I feel horrible and completely incompetent.
Well, I feel better now that I got all that out of my system.
I'm going to start drinking lots and lots and lots of water. Maybe. If I can remember. I like water, most of the time, and it's pretty much all I drank when I was at school because I was always too lazy to go out and buy anything else. We had one of those awesome Brita pitchers that took all the nasty things out of the water. So I got used to drinking a lot of water at school. When I got home, though, and within five minutes of a Sonic, well, there went all the water. I have a bottle of water here with me right now and I'm drinking away. The only bad thing about drinking water constantly is that I have to go to the bathroom all the time. And that's one of the most annoying things. Aw, suck it in, Ash. Shut up and drink your water.
And that's what I have to say about that.
