turn and face it

Word of the Day: efficacious Everything's all topsy-turvy at the hotel. People are getting switched around and it's hard to keep things straight. Jeff's the new guest service manager, Teresa's the new accounting manager, Vineta's the new sales manager, Cyndi's been moved to the back to help in the accounting department, and Jeff hired two new girls for the front desk. *sigh* I hate training. Although, Anita's worked in hotels before, so she's already nice and friendly and just needs to learn our ghetto system. I don't know about Samantha yet, I haven't worked with her. We'll see. I still haven't heard anything back about the job in admissions, so I'll stop hoping for that. There is, however, another opening for an office assistant for the Small Business Development Center that's on campus, so I'm going to put in the application for that on Monday. I just really want to be employed by the school only because I know the benefits and the pay are so good and it's stable. That's all I want. I talked to my mother yesterday and she said that my grandparents were coming over for the weekend and that my father was going to my uncle's ranch to help him out for the week. Oh, happy coincidence. So my mother and grandparents came to Victoria to see me since I have to work this afternoon, and we spent some time together. It was really nice to see my grandparents. They gave us a standing air filter, one of those Ionic Breeze type things. It's so awesome, I'm so very happy about that. We can put that in Baby's room and I won't have to worry so much about the smoke. They also gave me $200 and a Wal-Mart gift card from my aunt for $200, both of which are a godsend. Speaking of money, here's how it's going for me with our resolution: car payment - $130 movies - $4.50 food [usually for both of us] - $48.60 dentist - $51 gas - $11.25 JD's mother - $100 diapers - $18.37 ------------------------------------------- total = $404.22 Income so far this month [for me] = $408 So...yeah.

Good luck with Monday's application; I'm sure you'll land something one of these days. God bless.

Oh my...that IS cutting it very close, isn't it? I'm looking at your budget...can you cut out JD's mother? She's high maintenance! When do you get to quit your job and lay down til the baby comes? What if you have quintuplets?

I wanted to work for nyu admissions office so bad. but they denied me :(

whatev man, people as beautiful as you and I inside and out AND friendly and helpful to boot, we'd be perfect. admissions offices are stupid I guess.
not to be nosy, but what is $100 to jd's mother? i'm guessing rent, because that's a lot of money.

i'm hoping you get a new job soon. let us know how it turns out.
tough, but that stuff seems pretty necessary to me, so it's not like you can't spend that money, even when you are saving.

what smoke? who smokes?
ouch. that equation sounds similar to my bank account statement.
I'm reminded of how I hear it was for at least some pregnant slaves in this country back in the day. The mother-to-be would continue to pick cotton in the fields right up until the moment of birth. Then, she would squat, drop the baby, hang it in a sling at her breast and get back to work. It's impossible to imagine living a life THAT grim, but it's not hard to believe it really happened that way. Will you take 3 months off work AFTER the birth?
