Word of the Day: scuttlebutt
So I woke up this morning and went to take a shower at about 8:45. I said goodbye to all my roommates because they have 9 o'clock classes and I don't have mine on Fridays. I take my shower and it's really nice because it's cold outside and in the room and the water was hot (I was, thankfully, the only one taking a shower at the moment). So I go back to the room, only to find the door locked. I was in flipflops and a robe with only my shower caddy to befriend me. I knocked on Cathy RA's door and she wasn't there, and I knew Kathleen RA wasn't in her room either because she has Medieval Lit with Kate at 9. So I started knocking on people's doors so that I could call Campus Safety and no one was home. The fourth or fifth door I tried there was someone there and I called and a CSO came about ten minutes later to open the door. I wrote an angry note on my whiteboard--'Okay, which one of you forgot I was in the shower and LOCKED ME OUT?!?! Grrrrr...Ash' I even drew a little angry face next to my name instead of the normal smiley face. I wasn't really angry, it was just kind of funny that they (and by they I mean Kate) always lock me out. Except, normally, they're in the room. Ah me, it's fine. It was just really funny when I told Kate the story after economics and I could tell she was thinking, 'Man, who would lock Ashley out? Oh, wait, shit, I was the last one out the door!' The look of realization was wonderful. I made fun of her all during lunch.
It was looking to be a bad day, what with the lock out and the cold and the rain. But it really hasn't been. My one class today was really fun. The row I sit in made fun of Bostaph all class, and there was much laughter. People in general seem to be happy about the cold and the rain. It's apparatnly Jason Baxter's birthday today and he's wearing fun clothes. We ate lunch with Dan, who had just finished his Junior Poet panel an hour before, so he was happy and he made us all happy. Steven Parker tried to remember my name, and he off-handedly called me Tiffany, which was really funny. He's all like, after he knew my name, 'Well, you're not mad at me for calling you a different name, and now I know your name. It's a perfect situation.' And Aaron IM'ed me and told me we're set for 'Matrix: Revolutions' sometime tonight. He's buying the tickets now and I'll be going over there pretty soon to study all afternoon before the movie.
So that means I have to start concentrating to get things done this weekend. I have a long to-do list, but it can be done. Well, mostly done.
