Word of the Day: zero-sum
JD and I have been playing Scrabble a lot lately. I always think of kickass words [the very first word I could have made if I had an i was 'timbre'], but it's either not my turn or I don't have one or more letters. Though I did make 'deign' last night. I guess it's some of my English skillz coming out.
I wonder all the time if Patrick will like things. Will he like this band when he grows up, or these kinds of movies? Will he be good at math or history or music? I always imagine Patrick carrying a guitar in high school, walking around and seducing girlies with his beautifully smooth voice. It's like that kid I saw in my vision, with the Ramones t-shirt and the skateboard--that's him, that's my Patrick.
I wonder if I really saw that kid.
I was at the desk for only two days last week, but I got so many compliments about how professional I was and how nice I sounded on the phone. And how everyone missed me. As much as I hate working at the desk, even just for a half hour when Anetra goes to lunch, it makes me feel good to hear those things.
I really hate 'Lost'. I hate it like I hate 'Battlestar Galactaca'. And for anyone who really knows me, I don't hate 'BG' at all. I am, in fact, obsessed with it. And so it is with 'Lost'.
i wonder what my kids will look like, so at least you're one step ahead of me.
All I know about scrabble is to keep the letters in the word "retains", because it's really easy to use all 7 letters if your board is "retains". Also, aa is a word.
I'm always like, "YEAH! Scrabble!" But then two turns into it I'm bored.
Hangman is the infinitely better and infinitely more ADD word game. I've thought up some KILLER hangman words, because we play it all the time in chemistry.
Whatever he is, I bet he'll be wonderful with loving, super-hip parents like you two. I mean c'mon, you were playing scrabble. You're automatic winners in my opinion!

and of course kate and I argue thru it every week.
