Word of the Day: jeopardy It has been raining incessently for all of June. I don't remember it being this wet in a June since I've lived in Texas. There's only been two days in July, and it's rained nearly all two of them. My little nephew has staph infection. I don't know anything about staph infection, but Laura tells us it's very contagious and didn't want Patrick to be around her house today. So I went to work for an hour and a half this morning to get a couple of things done, and then I came home and JD went to work. I'm off tomorrow and JD's off on Wednesday, so Patrick will only be with his cousins two days this week. That's sad because he loves his cousins, even though all they do is try to beat each other up. Speaking of my rediculously intelligent son, he's doing quite well. He's at the [I hope it's a] stage where he doesn't listen most of the time. I have to literally scream his name sometimes to even get him to look at me. However, when he is listening, he's quite helpful. He'll get the milk from the fridge, he helps bring the groceries in and put them away, he helps with the laundry. He's doing pretty good with the going to the bathroom thing. He's in underwear all day except when he's sleeping or when he's in a car. He's counting in the teens ['eight, nine, two, seventeen, eighteen, nineteen, eight, nine, ten'], and he sings quite often. He's getting really tall, but he still doesn't weigh thirty pounds yet, so he's pretty skinny. He likes to list things, like people he knows and foods. He definitely likes to eat and drink and drink and drink. He can be very affectionate at times, asking for hugs and kisses, but most of the time he's running around buzzing or roaring or barking. He likes to laugh, for which I'm thankful. All this rain's making me sleepy.
