Word of the Day: luftmensch
Recently, JD and I decided that it was time to start trying for another baby. As my sister-in-law aptly put it, you're never ready for another kid, so you might as well just have one and take it as it comes. This was around the middle of March that we decided and started trying, and, amazingly, I'm pregnant. JD says he has super sperm since both Patrick and this one were conceived pretty much without trying. I would have to agree with him.
So now we're scoping out baby things. We know what we'll need and what we don't since we've gone through Patrick. We're going to find out the sex this time, so I was going to wait until then to buy and knit clothing, but everything else we'll need, like the crib, the travel system, eating seat, etc., we're going to buy pretty early to get it all out of the way. From what JD calculates, we'll be getting our stimulus check at the beginning of May, which is perfect. We can buy baby things, and save the rest to pay for rent when I'm on maternity leave.
JD and I are pretty excited. We tried to tell Patrick, but he seemed rather indifferent. He probably doesn't understand fully, but he knows he'll be someone's big brother and that he's got to help out more. Which is fine until the baby actually comes. I'm really wanting to see how Patrick will react to a new person getting attention instead of him. I suppose we'll have to wait until the event.
Apart from the baby news, not too much has been going on. The weather's been strange, cold then hot in the same day, but I think it's going to level off and just stay miserably hot. Work is the same. Patrick is silly and disobedient. All in all, life is pretty good.
