Word of the Day: quietus
Patrick at nine months
Once again, I didn't get Patrick on the green blanket. Although I'm pretty sure that even if I tried to put him on any blanket, he wouldn't have any of it. So I'll start this month with Patrick playing in his room.
Lookit his little teeth.
A cold front blew through last night, so it was chilly all day today. We dressed Patrick in one of his long-sleeved outfits.
But he didn't like his pants so JD put them on his head.
I was sitting in the chair watching Patrick and JD play, but then Patrick got tired of JD and the monkey and came to me. Aaaaawwwwwwwww.
Patrick found a mouse to play with, so he was happy for about two hours with that.
JD [with his new hairdo] and Patrick.
Patrick and me.
And now some pictures not related to today [and one that's not].
Patrick trying to choke his father.
Patrick and I were having a pillowfight, and he'd just laugh and laugh when I'd hit him with a pillow.
The best [and first] omlette I've ever made. Mmmmmm, cheese and mushroom goodness.
So enough with the pictures. On to serious matters.
Patrick has RSV. Dr. Dentler perscribed him some Abuterol for the wheezing and a generic steroid to open up his lungs and help him breath. He said he should be fine even if the medicine doesn't work [he said it helps some babies and doesn't help others]. I stayed home yesterday after bringing Patrick to the doctor's office [and then to the hospital for the RSV and hepititis-c tests and then to Hobby Lobby to unlock JD's car which he accidentally locked while running and then to Wal-Mart to get his perscriptions filled] because it was already early afternoon and Patrick hadn't slept and was miserable. Dr. Dentler said there was really nothing else to do other than the medications and suctioning his nose often and lots of love.
This is the first time Patrick's been sick in his little life. I think it's just as hard for me to watch as it his for him to be. Yesterday when I was at Hobby Lobby JD said, 'See, you're being all motherly.' I don't know if that's really motherly, though, when your child looks miserable and is coughing and snotty. JD was off today and didn't feel well this morning so he didn't go to school. We stayed with Patrick, who had a bad night and was angry angry this morning. However, after he took his medicine and slept for about three hours while I was at work [I went in at one], he seemed like good ole Patrick, hardly a cough and nary a runny nose.
I indeed love my son immensely. It's absolutely amazing.
Oh how I wish computer mice could preoccupy me for that long...
You know, without there having to be a screen and a video game on it.
