Word of the Day: thank-you-ma'am
I hate time. It seriously feels like only a few days have passed since I wrote that last entry. In reality, it's been twelve days. JD's been trying to put a duel bios on Harold with Windows and some sort of Linux, but no matter what he does, the internet won't work in Windows and he hasn't taught me how to work Linux yet. Needless to say, I spend much less time on the internet.
Speaking of JD, he got a raise the other day. His boss said he'd give him a raise now and he told him to come back in three more months and he'll give him another one. So that'll be nice when I get my raise, whenever that is.
Work has gotten infinitely more suckier lately. Monica walked out last Friday, so now we don't have a guest service or front office manager. Mr. Rolland said that Anetra and I [since we're AM and PM shift leaders] could handle most things until we get someone, but Anetra's sort of taken over. I've always said if they offer me any management position at the hotel, I wouldn't take it because I've seen what the stress does to people. Anetra, however, says she won't take the position, but I think she will. And if that happens, there will be an exodus from the desk, possibly including myself. I haven't worked with her in a long long time, but she's become sort of pushy, bossy, nit-picky, controlling, and quite aloof. Just so long as she stays out of my way and lets me do my job, it'll work out all right. However, she made the schedule for next week completely beneficial to herself. She's working 7-3 [with me, which is stupid] tomorrow so she can get her check at three and leave, I know it. She works one 3-11 shift, and then she put herself 12-8p, which is a shift for trainees and noobs, for three days. I asked her what was up with that when she called to check up on us yesterday, and she said, 'Ash, I'm tired of working till eleven every night.' Oh, really? You don't think I'm tired of being there at seven in the morning? You don't think I'm tired of working every Sunday unless I ask for the day off? You don't think I'm tired of working here after three years? And who are you to be making the schedule benefiting yourself when we're both in charge of the department? After I saw that, how she made that schedule, I knew it was going to be hell if she were manager.
Okay, Patrick just woke up from his nap, so I'm done for the day.
yea for knitting and raises!
