She really does write the rules and bends them as she breaks them.
Rating of the last real show: Excellent.
Rating of the last three months: Superior.
Rating of the last emotion coursing through me at the end of the day: Indescribable.
Today was State, the main event of the entire marching season and it all happened so quickly that I can scarecly believe that it's over. It feels like we went, we played, smiled for the flash, grabbed our awards, and left. That quick. And it's over. The official season, now at an end. All that's left is halftime, to continue until football loses. Today's performance, I believe, was not our best, and we deserved the Excellend we recieved. Everything else that happened was questionable and arguable, but we took home a captain for Drumline (Well deserved after these past two years of thievery), a visual effect captain, and the DM's managed a Superior rating. Not too shabby.
Spent the evening with Kris and laughed so hard it hurt. Surprisingly, laughing to pain and short gasps of air is still a wonderful feeling. Who would have thought. The concept is flawed. Nevertheless, I enjoyed every minute spent with him and give much thanks for the loan of warmth of good smell (aka: the swearshirt) ~.^
Spent the later evening and night with Amy, doing one thing we never do and always talk about doing: Hanging out outside of school, just the two of us. We made a remarkable discovery, too: We have been the most loyal friends to each other throughout these four years, seeing each other through the best of times and the worst of times, and even in our days of weeks of silence, always reunite in the best way as if we had never drifted. Being her best British friend, we went to see Bridget Jones' Diary 2; an adorable and laugh-out-loud movie that has now put Bridget's voice in my head and sent me speaking (and thinking) with a remarkable English tongue. Lovely. Anyway, we enjoyed our chai (sp?) tea (successfully snuck into the theatre, thanks to the coverings of 'the sweatshirt') and devoured shared company and popcornßvery yummy.
Words of advice for the day: If you fear that you may be wearing two contacts in one eye, but are not sure there’s a contact in after removing one already, use eye-drops to remove the other. (A hard-learned lesson by my mother, who thanks me genius profusely.)
On a closing note, I give much thanks to the marching band for contributing to an outstanding last season and much love to Kristofer for contributing to an amazing three months.
