The weekend has been long, and yet couldn't be long enough. I credit Friday's significance for making it feel like Sunday night; thank goodness it isn't. It's my third and final night of duty and I'll be going home tomorrow night the minute my duty ends at 5--an hour up, an hour down, that's just not enough time but it's the best that I can do, even if I am driving back at midnight. I don't care; I want more time with Them, and Her.
Helen came over tonight to spare me of another lonesome and long duty night. Oh yes, and also to do as friends do and hang out, since it had been weeks. It was really nice, too. We pigged out on Chinese she brought over and we talked, vented, laughed, reminisced, and then spent a long time on my computer digging through photos. It was a lot of fun. Although we did discover that there is a scarce amount of photos of our group, and even few of just she and I and made a pact to fix that. As Helen put it, we need evidence of our friendship!
As for the other parts of the day, my big plans of getting "all this work" done went down the shoot. I went to the station this morning but no one was there, came back to my room to check to see if I had the right date and time, I did, so I went back to the station, someone was there, but I hadn't been able to find the study guide for DJ training so I went back to my room to study until the next training session at 2. I went, took the test, passed, went through training, and that didn't end until 4:30; my whole day shot. I had to go back to the hall because of duty, so there went my opportunity to work on my application tape. So I tidied up and worked on my speech outline instead. Not a total waste of a day, but still, not as productive as I had hoped. On the other hand, it's only midnight and I have at least another hour and a half before I can turn in for the night.
