An entire month of reading CRAP papers sounding like forth graders, all the while editing mine over and over to perfection, and what do I get??? An A-!! What the hell is the minus for??? I realize an A is great, but this is english 101 and if I got an A-, there better damned not be any other A papers with the exception of Alex! An A-. Her critcism? On a an assignment based on the subject of figurative language and exercising writing devices, she tells me "It is obvious that manipulating words is fun for you. I would suggest you tighten your prose." And she said I didn't have enough quoted examples. Oh, and one view was "overly long" comapred to the others which, fine, I can agree, an entire page makes a difference. But it still irritated me that she gave me an A- for these small and petty things.
I know I'm making a big deal out of nothing, but it was a very frustrating class period as everyone tried desperately to understand what she wants us to do for our research assignment. And I'm also a bit edgy because I haven't been able to make a real dent in my history exam essay. I have about two hours to get it done. Then, Josh, Alex, and I are going to a free pre-showing of "Good Night and Good Luck". So, off to crash my way through the books and Word.
