I was just uploading the latest Thread pictures on my computer. I'm really enjoying this--directing, creating. Whenever we set out to block a scene I completely forget I'm the writer and turn all my efforts to becoming director, stepping back to look at things with a theatrical eye to make sure there is movement, that no one is being upstaged, that the actions make sense. As I try to give direction, I have to pause to write notes and stage directions...I need help! I'll be seeking a stage hand very soon.
As much as I enjoy working on the show, it is cut a bit short by all the obligations I have here, at ASU. I'm at another juncture in my life where time is being pressed on all sides so I'm having to leave places early, arrive to other places late, shift schedules and be completely malleable to what others require of me. Tomorrow Saguaro has a half day, which means I can be at the Wed. rehearsal because it will be earlier, but I have to leave early so I can race back here to take an English proficiency exam in order to pre-reg by Friday. Deadlines, deadlines, deadlines...as much as I can't wait for the end of this week, I really need this week to drag and unfortunately I feel there's a rug being ripped out beneath my feet. On that note, I'd better do more studying for tomorrow morning's exam...
PS- These pictures are fabulous! They all look like so much fun!
