Back from the city, from the lights, from the glamour, away from the cabs, from the streets, from the humidity. At the hotel (our room had a flat screen TV that was also a computer with internet!) I had written a huge entry detailing our first day in NY, BUT it didn't save and by the time I had the energy again to rewrite it all, our internet connection was lost. Grrr to that. So the real update will have to wait. In short, the trip was incredible. Every moment was a thrill, every corner gave birth to some enjoyment I was unaware the city could give.
